Net2 offers a user export and import functionality, allowing it to receive CSV files to update its user list. You can use CSV imports to manage the users that are synchronised to Arke from Net2.
Check the CSV format
The CSV that you import into Net2 needs to be in the correct format for Net2, for your first import, you can add a user to Net2 as shown in this helpdesk article and then export it from Net2. Click File > Export to CSV in the menu to export the users to CSV.
If you open this in a CSV editor, like Excel, you will see the format of users:
Note: to get the CSV to display properly in some countries, you may need to export with semi-colon instead of comma for the CSV delimiter.
Add your new users
You will need to use this format to reimport into Net2. Enter your resident information into these fields:
- First name
- Surname
- Department - must match synced department in Arke for residents to sync
- Access level - must not be 'No access' to sync, must match a valid access level name in Net2
- User ID - if left blank, a new user will be added. If a User ID is placed in this field and a user already has that User ID, the user will be updated in Net2
Once you have formatted your CSV, you can import it into Net2. Go to File > Import to import your file. You should select 'First row has field names' in Net2.
If you wish to remove all users before importing a new list, check that box - be careful, this can be dangerous; you will desynchronise all existing users if they are not replaced correctly.
