Some phones open Arke and stop on the picture screen. You never see the login page. This happens most on Samsung phones, and often after a new phone or a phone update.
Arke logs you in through your phone's web browser, not inside the app. If the browser or the app holds old data, the login can't start. The steps below fix this in most cases. Do them in order.
If you see "We couldn't load your sites"
- Stay on that screen.
- Hold near the top of the screen and pull down to refresh.
- Your estate should appear. If it doesn't, see No sites available.
Android phones (Samsung, Google Pixel and others)
- Make Google Chrome your default browser. Samsung Internet does not work with the Arke login. - Open Settings > Apps > Default apps > Browser app, and choose Chrome. - The menu names can differ slightly between phones.
- Clear your browser data. In Chrome, and in Samsung Internet if you have it, clear the cache, history and cookies.
- Clear Arke's own data. Open Settings > Apps > Arke > Storage. Tap Clear cache, then Clear storage (some phones call it Clear data). - Do this even if you have already reinstalled. This data can survive an uninstall.
- Remove anti-virus or "security" apps that check what other apps do. They can stop Arke from opening the browser.
- Uninstall Arke, then restart your phone.
- Install Arke again from the Google Play Store.
- Open Arke and allow notifications and contacts when asked. If you say no to notifications, the login may not start.
- Go through every welcome screen until you reach the login page.
Huawei phones
Newer Huawei phones don't have Google services. Arke is only built for Google Android and Apple iOS, so the app won't work on these phones. Use the web app instead (see below).
Older Android phones
Very old Android versions no longer get security updates, and Arke may not install or run on them. Use the web app instead.
iPhone
- Uninstall Arke.
- Restart your phone.
- Install Arke again from the App Store.
- Allow notifications and contacts when asked.
- Go through the welcome screens to the login page.
Use the web app while you sort it out
You can do everything from a browser at app.arke.io. To put it on your home screen:
- Open Chrome (or Safari on iPhone).
- Go to app.arke.io.
- Tap the menu (three dots, top right in Chrome) and tap Add to home screen.
- Give the shortcut a name. It will appear on your home screen like an app.
Still stuck?
Email support@arke.io with:
- the phone number you used to sign up for Arke
- your estate name and unit number
- your phone's make and model (for example "Samsung Galaxy A55")
- your Android or iOS version
- your default browser
- which of the steps above you tried
- whether the problem started straight after a phone update or on a new phone
- a screen recording from opening the app to where it gets stuck, or a screenshot
